About
Us
The idea of the group came about in 2005, with the purchase of the first
fire truck (and at that time, Wicktonville Township lacked a fire department).
A few clicks on eBay, and Engine 2 joined the Department. Rescue 71 and
Tower 43 joined us in 2006, Quint 59 in 2007, Truck 61 in 2009 as Tower
43 was retired (mechanical failure), and Engine 3 came online in 2010.
The fleet continues to evolve to ensure we're able to respond to most
calls for service and events.
As an organization, Wicktonville Fire Department was formally established
in Spring 2007. We were incorporated with the State of California in early
2008, restructuring the organzation to introduce additional services,
formalizing business processes, as well as exploring a permanent facility
for on-site activities that is open to the public.
Wicktonville Fire Department, Inc., is managed by our President, Administrative
and Operations Vice Presidents, with oversight and captial changes approved
by our Board of Directors. We are proud to be a woman-owned business, with our seated Board of Directors also being predominately female.
